This is a really good basic lasagna recipe. It's based on one I found somewhere, but I've tweaked it quite a bit to suit my own tastes. I like it as written with italian sausage, but you can substitute ground beef if you must. 1. Preheat oven to 400°..
2. Finely chop yellow squash, zucchini and mushrooms..
3. Boil lasagna noodles. Drain..
4. Brown Ground beef. Drain.
5. In medium saucepan combine spaghetti sauce chopped zucchini, yellow squash, and mushrooms. Be sure to leave behind enough sauce for the bottom of the pan. Add salt and pepper to taste. ( I use Prego traditional spaghetti sauce, Toni Chachere's Creole seasoning, and McCormicks Perfect Pinch Italian).
6. In 12" x 9" pan pour light coat of spaghetti sauce in bottom of pan as a base. Lay lasagna in sauce, layer spaghetti sauce mixture over lasagna. Coat in cheese. Repeat twice. At top of lasagna add 5 cheese blend, Romano and Parmesan Cheese..
7. Bake for approximately 30 mins. Or until top is golden brown..
