Ingredients of Kashi Halwa/White Pumpkin Halwa

  1. It's 1 cup of White Pumpkin.
  2. You need 1/2 cup of Sugar.
  3. You need 3 tbsp of Ghee.
  4. It's 10 of Cashew nuts.
  5. Prepare 10 of Raisins.
  6. Prepare 1/4 tsp of Kesari powder.
  7. You need 1 tsp of Cardamom powder.

If you have a food processor that would make your task a lot easier! Colour starts changing from white to light golden brown & water evaporates completely. never tried this pumpkin halwa before.but looks really delicious. I remember loving halwa when I was a child. My dad used to buy of for us as a treat.

  1. First take pumpkin cut into 4 parts and Peel the skin and inner side seeds also. And then take a grater and grated the pumpkin..
  2. Take a cooker and put the pumpkin in a bowl and cook for 3 whistles..
  3. Take the cooked pumpkin and put in a Muslin cloth and squeeze it..
  4. Take a pan add the pumpkin and cook 2 minutes then add sugar. Sugar is dissolved and stir continuous and then thicken that time added kesari Powder added with water. Added ghee and cook for 5 minutes..
  5. Take a pan add ghee then add Cashew nuts get golden in colour and raisins puffed. Add to the pumpkin halwa. Kasi Halwa ready to serve..

I haven't had halwa since I moved to Canada. Kasi halwa is a traditional South Indian sweet prepared with ash gourd. It is usually served at South Indian weddings. Peel the cardamom pods and powder cardamom. Peel the skin, discard the seeds and grate ash gourd (white pumpkin).
