  1. Prepare 1/2 cup of Poha/flattened rice.

  4. You need 6-8 of raisins.
  5. Prepare 1 cup of Water.
  6. You need 1/2 cup of jaggery powder.
  7. You need 1 teaspoon of green cardamom powder.
  8. It's 2 drops of orange food colour(optional).

Poha/Aval Kesari (flattened rice dessert) instructions

  1. Add the poha to a non stick pan and dry roast on medium heat for 3-4 minutes.
  2. Take off heat and let cool completely.
  3. Dry grind the poha into a course mix.
  4. Melt 2 tablespoon ghee in a non stick pan.
  5. Add the cashews and raisins to the pan.
  6. Sauté on Low heat until cashews are brown and raisins puff up.
  7. Once done, take off heat and keep them aside.
  8. Add the poha now and roast for 3-4 minutes on Low heat.
  9. Add water now and mix well.
  10. Once lump free add 2 teaspoon ghee and mix.
  11. Add the cardamom powder, colour and jaggery.
  12. Combine by mixing continuously for 2 minutes.
  13. Once the mixture comes together, add the cashews and raisins.
  14. Mix and take off heat.
  15. Enjoy warm !.
